Data Management Admin Support
-Problem solving skills and ownership of assigned tasks
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

-Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and specialized software for the performance of duties
-Working knowledge of standard office equipment such as printers and copiers
-Experience coding in Python programming language
-Experience with PuTTY and WinSCP software
-Experience with Minnesota Supercomputing Institute's interface
About the Job
The UMN Lion Center is seeking part-time administrative support to assist with the management and cleaning of camera trap data collected from SnapshotSafari, a citizen-science project that processes hundreds of thousands of images each year. Image files are verified and clean upon receipt, and scripts are run to prepare them for upload to the Zooniverse platform used for classification. The successful candidate will be responsible for running scripts to assess any errors in the data and then cleaning the data to ensure high fidelity and precision in the final product.
-Manage and clean data from research sites
-Perform independent troubleshooting and problem solving
-Identify and implement opportunities to increase efficiency in the work process
-Assist with overflow work from graduate students as needed
Part-time, averaging approximately 10-12 hours/week, weekly workload will depend on timing of data receipt from collaborators
