The Role:
The HR Administrator (with an emphasis on full-cycle payroll, HRIS and leave of absence administration) is responsible for the processing of biweekly payroll and post payroll activities, managing and coordinating leaves of absence programs and performing a variety of human resources-related activities in support of the organization. In addition to the skill sets required of this role, characteristics of success include being highly organized, detail-oriented and most importantly, personable and approachable. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.

  • Responsible for processing and distribution of biweekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reviews payroll register and corrects errors to ensure accuracy. Responsible for distributing post payroll reports to Accounting and various departments.
  • Responsible for maintaining all garnishments and producing biweekly earning statements.
  • Ensures time sheets are approved by department managers, reviewed for accuracy, and submitted in a timely fashion in compliance with company policy, state and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates the company leave of absence programs, ensuring all aspects of the process (leave requests, employee communication and tracking procedures) are completed in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner.
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) calculation and group administration.
  • Coordinates day to day processing of employee benefit elections within the payroll system and with benefit providers. Responsible for new employee enrollment, changes and terminations with benefit providers. Works closely with HR Manager to ensure accurate benefit deductions and record keeping.
  • Work with HR Manager to coordinate annual benefit Open Enrollment.
  • Assist with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files, administering employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate persons.
  • Organize, maintain and update employee HRIS information as needed
  • Track and report on company benefit plans, including health care, 401(k), Workers Compensation, etc.
  • Respond to employee inquires and requests regarding payroll and other HR-related activities.
  • Maintains accurate payroll records and employee files.
  • Cross-trained in Human Resources and serves as the back up to the HR Generalist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Willing and able to spend time in plant areas (i.e. walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spaces) to understand and audit the process
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, lift/carry up to 25 lbs. and push/pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to meet all other physical requirements of work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree Required (preferably in Human Resources or Business/Accounting).
  • Ability to work across day parts (nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours) as required.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) and/or HR Certification (PHR/SHRM-CP) a plus.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
