Summary
This position is under the supervision of the Human Resources Director and is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day Human Resources operations and recruiting operations.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for operational and technical personnel duties to include: employment application intake, on boarding of new and rehire personnel, computer entry and file maintenance.Assist employees and public with personnel information and interpretation of Personnel policies and procedures. Assist with new employee orientation.Responsible for maintenance of confidential personnel files, personnel actions, preparing recruitment lists and job postings.Maintain computer employee data information.Answer telephones.Assist Manager with employee/personnel projects and training.Establishes various reports and documents to provide current personnel information.Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.Generates reports for the affirmative action program; files EEO-1and Vets-100A report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations, writes and places advertisements.Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Required:
An associate's degree/bachelor's degree and one (1 or more) years of Human Resources or administrative experienceConsiderable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, human resources regulations effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Microsoft word, and AccessKnowledge of Crystal Reports required
Travel: This position rarely requires any traveling but possibly would to other offices at certain times of the year. Only in Virginia and no overnight.
Preferred:
Prior military experience is a plus but not requiredGeneral knowledge of common Human Resources Software
